About the film
Whimsy is essential within art and nature.
Faerie Soirée is the fourth song on Melanie Martinez ’s third studio album, Portals. I was brought onto the project as a production assistant by Dojohouse Media Group , which was responsible for the production side of the project.
As the album follows a whimsical journey through life and death, Faerie Soirée portrays an incarnation of Crybaby—the protagonist from Martinez’s Cry Baby and K-12 visual albums—as a free-spirited faerie consumed by the playfulness and pleasure of nature.
After moving through this lifecycle, she is ready to rest and be reborn in the music videos that follow, including Light Shower , Spider Web , and Leeches .
